pfm medical ag and Nano4Imaging GmbH are proud to announce that pfm medical has become the exclusive distributor for the EmeryGlide guidewire starting with the CE region and later on worldwide excluding the USA. The innovative EmeryGlide of Nano4Imaging GmbH enables cardiologists to perform invasive MRI diagnostics leading to new interventional treatments in cardiology.

During this year’s symposium of European society of pediatric cardiology (AEPC 2019) in Sevilla, pfm medical and Nano4Imaging GmbH organized a lunch symposium entitled “Expert guidance for MRI procedures in pediatric cardiology“. During the symposium both companies announced that pfm medical has become the exclusive distributor of Nano4Imaging’s EmeryGlide guide wire. The symposium enabled new EmeryGlide users to get guidance from experts in starting up their procedures in the MRI suite. For this purpose, the cardiologist team from Dallas Children’s/UT Southwestern joined the workshop to present a brief history and perspective of MRI guidance (Gerhard Greil), show the most recent advances in single ventricle patients (Suren Reddy) and share some recently taped cases.

Over the past two decades, the field of iCMR has been limited to predominantly diagnostic procedures. The availability of EmeryGlide guidewire, a MRI compatible guide wire, is a major step forward to put the real ‘i’ in iCMR procedures”, says Dr. Suren Reddy from UT Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center, Dallas. “The EmeryGlide guidewire has enabled me and my colleagues to advance catheters to places that was previously not possible thereby pushing the boundaries of diagnostic procedures in MRI. I look forward to pave the way towards real interventions in the MRI suite in the near future. Partnerships within device industry and academia on the other hand is critical to develop more tools needed for iCMR procedures. I am glad that pfm medical and Nano4Imaging are combining forces to move things ahead.”
